Turbine Control System Industry News
- In September 2022, Siemens Energy has delivered its turbine control system across the offshore wind farm. The control system was used in EnBW He Dreiht wind farm, a 900-megawatt project located around 90 km northwest to the German North Sea coast near Borkum. It will further provide a comprehensive central IT network that includes cybersecurity solutions. This network will ensure efficient and secure communication and operation of the wind farm. Moreover, the company has offered the support and maintenance of the wind farm's control and IT systems.
- In November 2020, Enel has entered into an agreement with ABB to upgrade the gas turbine control system of a third-party power plant. The project involved modernizing the old systems at the La Casella combined cycle power plant in Giovanni, Piacenza, Italy. The upgrade was part of Enel's comprehensive decarbonization program aimed at extending the plant's lifecycle and reducing its carbon footprint. ABB provided a customized automation system for Unit 4 of the power plant, replacing the existing Siemens Teleperm XP control system.
